A passenger bus driver escaped becoming a victim of gun violence, just before dawn this morning, Wednesday January 9, after couple bullets were pumped into his bus while he was in it.
The incident occurred in Sandy Point.
According to reliable sources, the bus driver was just about to leave the home of his companion, minutes to 6, when he heard two loud sounds. He initially thought that there was something wrong with his vehicle but that thought was quickly quashed when he heard the sound of a third gunshot.
The driver fled the scene in his bus “Long Way”.
After fleeing the area and inspecting the bus, two bullet holes were found in the bus.
The Police have been informed of the incident but they have not yet issued a formal statement in relation to the incident.
This is the third known gun related incident in less than 48 hours.
On January 7, at approximately 9 p.m., three young males sustained gunshot wounds in their legs when gunmen opened fire on them in St. Paul’s. In the second incident, several shots were fired in the Lower Monkey Hill area, yesterday morning January 8, at approximately 4 30.
There has been tremendous concern within the public domain about gun related crimes.
