A travesty; Douglas brands PM Harris government boast about World Justice Index ranking
The current Harris administration’s boast about being ranked as one of the top regional countries on the World Justice Index is just a travesty. So says leader of the opposition St. Kitts and Nevis Labour Party Dr. Denzil Douglas.
Douglas indicated that he was weary of the government’s boast because of PM Harris poor track record when it comes to when it comes to good governance and the rule of law.
The opposition leader said Prime Minister Harris himself has been plagued by numerous scandals, including two very serious and high profile international cases currently hanging over his head: the London Virdee Bribery case and the US Food and Drug Administration’s criminal investigation into the human subject violations of the HERPES experiment that took place here in St. Kitts.
Dr. Douglas referenced the record of Harris’ administration in manipulating numbers so the government’s song and dance isn’t really telling us anything conclusive about this administration’s performance on good governance and rule of law in comparison to my administration.
According to the World Justice Index Barbados and Italy have jumped St. Kitts and Nevis in the rankings.
