BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (KYSS FM) – Twenty-three year old Ackeem Connor of St. Paul’s has been slapped with a sentence of 5 years, two months and 10 days after being found guilty of robbery.
Connor, who was sentenced in the High Court on November 16, escaped the prescribed sentence of 20 years, with or without hard labour, after several factors were taken into consideration. These included the facts that he had no previous convictions and had spent one year, five months and 18 days in pre-sentencing custody.
Other aggravating and mitigating factors in relation to the robbery were also taken into consideration in determining his sentence.
According to information provided by the Police, Connor was indicted in connection with the robbery on March 24, 2017.
