Amnesty urges ICC to probe ‘crimes against humanity’ in Venezuela

Venezuela’s ambassador to the United Nations has denied that his government is exterminating its opponents.

He was responding to a report by Amnesty International which claimed to have evidence of extrajudicial killings and torture carried out by government agents.

This follows a request earlier this week by Amnesty International for the International Criminal Court to investigate alleged crimes against humanity committed by Venezuelan security forces and paramilitary groups loyal to President Nicolas Maduro.
