Bayticol available, Ministry hoping to incentive access of solution to farmers
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture Al Edwards has confirmed that his Ministry has procured a quantity of bayticol to be made available to local farmers.
The disclosure comes as livestock farmers have vented their frustration with the impact that a tick related disease has on their animals. A number of animals have died because of the disease.
Bayticol is the chemical solution to combat the disease.
Edwards indicated that in addition to the availability of the solution, the Ministry is also exploring options to incentive the accessibility of the product to farmers.
Recently, the Chairman of the St. Kitts Nevis Labour Party Dr. Terrance Drew lashed out at the Minister of Agriculture Hon. Eugene Hamilton, accusing him of in-activeness as the farmers struggle with the disease.
