Boris Johnson defeated in key no-deal Brexit vote

The United Kingdom’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson lost his parliamentary majority, when one of his MPs defected to the pro-European Union Liberal Democrats.

Johnson has promised to leave the EU on October the 31st, even if it means crashing out without a deal.

A “rebel alliance” of 21 Conservative MPs have on Tuesday night dealt an expected and humiliating defeat to Johnson in the House of Commons.

The groups wants to postpone Brexit until the end of January to ensure that the UK does not leave the EU without a deal.
