Popcaan, French Montana, Smokey Robinson and Davido have been revealed as the headliners for the
2019 St. Kitts Music Festival from June 26 to 30, 2019. This was revealed by the Chairman or the artistes’
selection committee Jonel Powell, at an early launch ceremony on December 7.
For the first time ever, the event will be held at the Kim Collins Athletic Stadium, in Bird Rock.
According to Powell, the revealing of the four musical entertainers is a “nice teaser of what is to come.”
The head table which included Powell, Music Festival Chairman Damion Hobson, Minister of Tourism
Hon. Lindsay Grant and the ceremony’s chair Val Henry, unanimously promised of a second reveal event
in January 2019, where the entire slate of performers will be announced.
Chairman Hobson stated that an economic impact study which was commissioned by the Ministry of
Tourism indicated that brought in an estimated EC$13 million and contributed approximately EC$5.7
million to the country’s gross domestic product.
The music festival also generated 2260 jobs, according to the impact study.
Smokey Robinson is known for his soothing R&B vocals, French Montana for the rap genre, Davido has
contributed immensely to the popular of Afro beats rhythms and Popcaan is one of the most recognized
dancehall artiste today.
