Cayon residents without water for days, vent frustration
Residents of Cayon have been venting their frustration on the lack of water over the past few days.
“I know it’s early but today is another working day and still no water in Cayon. Days now we going without water and nobody saying nothing or at least I ain’t hear no explanation as to why the community without water supply after so much days on constant rain. One of the tanks we do get water from when water gone is already empty. Where are we to get water from to use? Somebody need to say something and fix whatever problem they got cause water is needed,” one complainant vented.
“This good morning and I am pissed. They need to get like SKELEC. We need we get notices on what’s going on. Water Department forming the fool. For a paying customer like me this is nonsense,” said another villager.
Monday morning after the complaints went public, the Water Department issued a statement informing Cayon residents of “an ongoing unplanned service interruption due to a two-fold problem presently being addressed.”
“A blockage at the surface water source is restricting the flow of water to the storage reservoir and a break has occurred in a main distribution line resulting in low levels at the reservoir,” said the statement.
