Cuba lawsuits: Claimants seek damages in US courts

Americans and naturalized Cubans, whose properties were seized by former leader Fidel Castro, may now seek damages in US courts from foreign companies that profited from the seized lands of businesses.

Their claims total more than eight billion dollars.

The lawsuits were allowed by a change in US policy toward Cuba under the Trump administration.
