According to the Seismic Research Centre at the University of the West Indies, the earthquake had a magnitude of 4.7 and was felt on Guadeloupe and Antigua and Barbuda as well.
The Seismic Research Centre indicated that the tremor occurred at 4:12 am (local time) was located at latitude 18.81 North, Longitude 60.41 West at a depth of 10 kilometres.
There were no reports of damage or injuries.

The frequency of tremors throughout the region has drawn attention to the possibility of a major quake hitting the Eastern Caribbean.
