Federation has 81% CXC pass rate but Math is a problem
Students from St. Kitts and Nevis returned a pass rate of 80.73% in this year’s Caribbean Examination Council CSEC May/ June examination, according to initial figures released by the Minister of Education Hon. Shawn Richards.
The statistics also show that there has been a significant decline in the Mathematics pass rate. This year’s figure showed a 49.77% pass rate, down from the 65.4% of 2018 – 216 passes out 434.
1661 candidates wrote 5339 subjects in the federation- 1307 candidates in St. Kitts and 354 in Nevis.
Of that, 752 candidates were school students and 909 were private students.
Additionally it was revealed that of the 5339 subject entries, 4271 were school candidates and 1068 were private candidates.
Grade 1 to Grade 3 passes totaled 4291.
