After the first weekend of Carifesta 14 in Trinidad and Tobago, the St. Kitts and Nevis delegation has been branded as a vital energy source for the regional super expo.
All members of the delegation showed up and stepped out with confidence.
All the delegates have taken their duties as ambassadors of the twin island state very seriously and they have left positive impressions all over the capital Port of Spain and its environs.
“It seems to me that the smaller the country, the more energy they bring,” Julian Frederick, General Manager of the Radisson Hotel, where the delegation is staying, stated.
His comments came after the St. Kitts and Nevis contingent led an impromptu “bacchanal session” in the hotel lobby.
Team St. Kitts and Nevis participated in the pre-opening parade around the Queen’s Park Savannah, danced across the huge stage for the opening ceremony, ignited the Grand Market with the intricate but dazzling footwork of the masquerades and secured the respect of the audience with a powerful spoken word and drumming presentation that denounced crime and violence, especially among the young.
The weekend culminated with the SKN All Star Band- featuring Deli Ranks and Rucas HE- leaving the Grand Market patrons spellbound with an electrifying soca performance.
The St. Kitts and Nevis delegation is committed to not only showcasing its culture but also strengthening its campaign to host Carifesta in 2023.
The team energy is expected to get even stronger as this week progresses.
