Windies T20 stars Chris Gayle and Andre Russell will look to take their explosiveness to the game’s shortest format after being drafted for the second edition of the T10 League tournament in Dubai.
The 39-year-old Gayle was drafted by the defending champions Kerala Kings, while Russell ended up with the Northern Warriors. Other Caribbean stars will, however, also be joining the party with Darren Sammy, Nicholas Pooran, Dwayne Smith, Rovman Powell, Obed McCoy, Lendl Simmons, Khary Pierre and Kennar Lewis all joining Russell at the Warriors.
Joining Gayle at the Kings will be Kieron Pollard and Fabian Allen. Sunil Narine has been named the icon player of the Bengal Tigers and will be joined by Sherfane Rutherford, Kevon Cooper, and Rayad Emrit. Andre Fletcher and Chadwick Walton will suit up for the Pakhtoons while Dwayne Bravo will be the lone Windies player on the Maratha Arabians. Carlos Brathwaite will join the Rajputs and Evin Lewis the Punjabi Legends.
The Eight teams – Kerala Kings, Punjab Legends, Maratha Arabians, Bengal Tigers, The Karachians, Rajputs, Northern Warriors and Pakhtoons – have been drawn into two groups to contest the League which gets under way at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium from November 23 to December 2.
