Police have confiscated another illegal firearm and one male is assisting them with investigations into the find.
The discovery, which included ammunition, was made on February 13.
“During a joint stop and search operation by Police Officers and Soldiers of the St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force in Charlestown on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, one (1) Glock .40mm pistol was found with ten (10) matching rounds of ammunition. The vehicle was also taken into Police custody as is the practice in such cases,” a Police press release disclosed.
This is the third illegal firearm to be seized by the Police for 2019.
In 2019, thirty seven illegal firearms were confiscated.
However, it is not known how many were actually tied to murders or used in the commission off other crimes.
