Hassan Rouhani refuses US nuclear talks until sanctions removed
Iran’s president says his country will not negotiate on its nuclear programme as long as United States sanctions remain.
President Hassan Rouhani accused the US of “economic terrorism” in his address to the United Nations General Assembly.
Instead, Rouhani proposed a regional coalition to police the Straits of Hormuz, where much of the world’s oil passes through.
The Trump administration has stepped up sanctions against Tehran after what it says were Iran-led attacks on Saudi oil facilities earlier this month.
