Honourable Konris Maynard calls on all to do their part responsibly
In light of several unverified voice notes being circulated, claiming to have information about covid 19 cases here in skn, the minister for st Christopher 3 has taken to social media to condemn these acts.
“I want to join with Dr. Hazel Laws, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr. Terrance Drew and others in condemning the circulation of unverified voice notes purporting to be sharing information about the Government’s COVID-19 response.
At a time like this, it is extraordinarily important that we share information that comes only from credible sources. Unverified information has the undesired potential to cause unhelpful alarm and fear in the Country.
To help combat this, it will also be incredibly important that the Government has daily COVID-19 updates at specific times such that people can look to in order to get regular updates. In the absence of regular updates from the Government, a void is created that can be filled by sensational snippets in Social Media.
We are facing unprecedented times and if there was ever a time to truly work together, it is now!
Let’s do our part!”
