Island Wide Outage today raises questions about SKELEC

At around 4:00 am today Friday 15th November 2019, there was a fault at the Needmust power station which resulted in an island wide blackout.

Restoration started just after 6:00 am and by 9:30 am 75% of the island had been restored.

Kyssfm tried to reach out to the Acting General Manager of SKELEC for a comment but up to press time was unable to get a hold of him.

This situation is becoming troubling to citizens as the frequency of outages seems to be increasing. Kyssfm will continue to reach out to the necessary personnel in hopes of giving the public an update on this troubling matter at SKELEC.
