In a statement that has raised the eyebrows of many, especially as this period is seen as “politics season”, Chairman of the People’s Action Movement (PAM) Jonel Powell has stirred the concrete nature of the Prime Ministership of Dr. Timothy Harris.
Powell’s says the PLP/CCM/PAM coalition has no agreement to state that the coalition leader and Prime Minister Dr the Hon Timothy Harris will serve another term as prime minister if PAM wins a majority of the seats in the next general elections.
When questioned by a radio caller, Powell first confirmed that PAM will not field a candidate in St Christopher 7 – the constituency that Dr Harris currently represents in the National Assembly and will support his candidacy in the next general election
Powell’s PAM party is the major stakeholder in the present coalition government, with four seats.
The next general election is constitutionally due by early next year but there are many who believe that it is going to be called before the year ends.
His inference, is considered a hint of displeasure with the current performance of Prime Minister Harris.
