BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – Meantime, Deputy Leader of the St. Kitts and Nevis Labour and parliamentary representative for Constituency 2, Hon. Marcella Liburd, has launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris and his Team Unity administration, accusing them of placing democracy under siege.
Ms. Liburd made the accusation at the launch of the St. Kitts and Nevis Labour Party’s launch of its Code of Ethical Conduct on December 5.
Hon. Liburd cited several practices of the current administration in support of her allegations against the government and indicated that these suggest that the Harris-led administration is not committed to providing good governance.
Liburd noted that the launch of the new code of conduct indicates that her party is serious about principles and values.
She added as well that unlike the Team Unity government which is devoid of reverence for good principles and transparency, the Labour Party places the utmost importance on respect and dignity.
According to the Labour Party representative, the introduction of the Code of Ethical Conduct is critical in shaping a positive and healthy image of her party.
