Man charged for attempting to smuggle in significant amount of cannabis
Levar Browne of Fiennes Avenue has been slapped with several charges, in relation to a joint operation by the Police and Customs and Excise Department netted four (4) pounds of cannabis in food containers.
“Browne was charged by the Police for the offences of Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply and Importation of Cannabis on September 05. He was also charged by the Customs and Excise Department for the offences of Knowingly Submitting a False Declaration to a Customs Officer, Importation of Cannabis, Importation of Cannabis Concealed in Containers Holding Goods of a Different Description and Knowingly Attempting to Fraudulently Evade Customs with Respect to the Importation of a Restricted Good,” according to a Police press release.
He was subsequently bailed in the sum of EC$60, 000 but (1) he is to report to the Basseterre Police Station every Wednesday between 6a.m. and 6p.m.; and (2) To surrender all travel documents.
His court date is set for November 4.
