More allegations of interference dog Prime Minister Harris
Additional allegations of interference in the St. Kitts Nevis Labour Party’s campaign for the upcoming federal elections and intimidation tactics have been levelled against Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris.
This time the accuser is Leon Natta Nelson- the candidate who is hoping to depose Prime Minister Harris in constituency 7.
Natta Nelson spoke of several instances to cement his claims during a town hall meeting held last night, June 25, in Basseterre. His claims suggest that PM Harris used various schemes to discourage persons who wished to participate in his campaign, including pressuring a Natta Nelson’s god daughter.
The political newcomer also indicated that he had received information that young men were recruited to in attempt to sabotage his launch.
While voicing his displeasure at the alleged interference from PM Harris, Natta Nelson also shared an experience that he considered a threat.
Natta Nelson’s allegations come on the heels of assertions of intimidation made by Antigua and Barbuda’s Minister of Education, Hon. Michael Browne. The visiting government minister said Prime Minister Harris called his prime minister (Hon. Gaston Browne), in attempt dissuade him from participating in Natta Nelson’s launch event.
PM Harris has not denied the allegations.
