Music Festival chair responds to Framer Nappy call for live band backing
Chairman of the St. Kitts Music Festival, Damian Hobson has pushed back at comments made by Trinidad and Tobago soca artiste Farmer Nappy, who was critical of the absence of a live band for his performance during night one of the Music Festival.
Hobson indicated that his committee made a decision to have the artistes to be supported by tracks and all the performers were aware of this.
The St. Kitts Music Festival Chairman also pointed out that this year’s edition of the festival was huge success, despite the concern.
Framer Nappy, real name Darryl Henry, while onstage at another event after the St. Kitts Music Festival, said artistes prefer to perform with live bands and the St. Kitts Music Festival should take note
The Hookin Meh singer’s comments have triggered mixed reaction on various platforms. There are many who support his call for live band backing and there are others who have frowned on his complaint, questioning why he waited until he left the St. Kitts and Nevis to vocalize his opinion.
The St. Kitts Music Festival Committee has indicated that it is already exploring other options to improve on next year’s event.
