Chairman of the St. Kitts Music Festival Organising Committee Damion Hobson says he is anticipating three times as much economic activity because of this year’s festival and double the attendance to this week’s event.
He made the disclosure during an exclusive with this media house, on site, earlier today, June 25.
Hobson indicated that the economic bounties encompassed both islands the ripple effect was felt through various sectors. He noted that the Economic Impact Assessment from last year’s festival showed a turnover of about EC$ 13 million into the economy and he was confident that it would be tripled this year.
The St. Kitts Music Festival Chairman also projected doubled crowd numbers for this edition of the festival, judging from charters and ticket sales.
Some artistes for this year’s festival have already started to arrive.
Headliner’s for this year’s edition of the festival include Davido (Afro beats), French Montana (Hip hop), Ella Mai (R&B), Smokey Robinson (Soul), Buju Banton (Reggae/ Dancehall) and Shal Marshall (Soca).
The festival is for three nights, June 27 to 29.
