BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (KYSSFM) – St. Kitts and Nevis is participating in the 24th Conference of Montreal.
The conference, which began today concludes on 14th June, follows the G7 summit hosted by Canada.
It is organised by the International Economic Forum of the Americas under the theme, “A New Globalisation: Managing Uncertainty.”
The Conference of Montreal strives to foster exchanges of information, promote free discussion on major current economic issues and facilitate meetings between world leaders to encourage international discourse. It brings together heads of state and representatives of the private sector, international organizations and civil society.
Ban Ki-moon, the eighth secretary-general of the United Nations, and Angel Gurria, secretary general of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), are among global leaders participating in the conference.
Foreign Affairs and Civil Aviation Minister, Hon. Mark Brantley is attending on behalf of the Federation and will address the gathering on Tuesday.
Earlier today, Brantley said the conference presents an excellent opportunity to press the case of St. Kitts and Nevis and the wider region on shared issues.
