Local News, News

Basseterre, St Kitts, – Scores of employees at the Park Hyatt St Kitts at Christophe Harbour have been made redundant. General Manager, Mark Schneider informed employees that their respective positions would become redundant with effect from June 30, 2020. He advised that that the relevant notice period will be prescribed by the local labour law and the vacation balance due will be paid up to June 30, 2020. The employees were also advised that their medical insurance with the hotel will also come to an end with effect from June 30, 2020. “We understand that this is difficult time but we encourage you to stay in communication with us and also to keep your profile active on Hyatt jobs in order to apply for any vacant positions that might arise in the future,” the letter said. The general manager said the decision has been made due to the global coronavirus pandemic.
