Basseterre, ST KITTS (KYSS) — Eugene Weekes, co-host of the Nevis Reformation Party radio programme, Tell Me, says Prime Minister, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris’ post-Irma visit to Anguilla was most embarrassing.
Addressing the , Mr Weekes stated that Prime Minister Harris travelling to Anguilla on a “fact-finding mission” without any aid supplies for the hurricane-ravaged island was heartless.
Mr Weekes charged Prime Minister Harris with being selfish, stating that his visit served no purpose for the people of Anguilla as it was purely a publicity stunt.
Prime Minister Harris travelled to Anguilla on 13th September, 2017 as part of the OECS Monetary Council delegation following the passage of Hurricane Irma.
A day later on 14th September, 2017 Nevis’ Deputy Premier, Hon. Mark Brantley, travelled to St. Maarten and Anguilla.
The purpose of the visits, according to government issued press statements, was to ascertain the needs of Kittitians and Nevisians in the storm affected islands.
