BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (KYSS FM) – Just one day after the discovery of a Guyanese man’s body in Nevis, word broke on St. Kitts of the discovery of a body on Sunday 1st April in the mountainous area of Wingfield Road, Old Road, six miles west of Basseterre.
According to the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force who are now investigating, the partially decomposed body was found among the trees on the side of a steep ghaut.
The gruesome discovery was made by a senior police officer while hiking with his wife.
The body was later removed by the St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services and then processed by the Police Crime Scene Unit.
As preparations are made for an autopsy this week, Police are currently working to confirm the identity of the individual.
Most persons are off the belief however, that the body found may be that of missing Newton Ground resident, Priston Joel Fleming.
Fleming was last seen in the Old Road/Verchild’s area on February 27 wearing a white polo T-shirt and short dark khaki pants.
