BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (KYSS) – Superintendent of Prisons, Junie ‘Scrape’ Hodge, has reportedly been forced out of employment.
While the details are still vague, sources indicate that Mr. Hodge’s abrupt exit comes just days after a fiery verbal exchange between himself and Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris.
One of the reasons for the quarrel apparently was the violent gang feud in the prison last week which left two inmates with stab wounds. Following the stabbings, which occurred in separate incidents over a 72 hour period, Mr. Hodge announced that visitation with inmates was immediately suspended until further notice.
Mr. Hodge occupied the position of Superintendent of Prisons for approximately twenty months.
