Protesters firm as HK says extradition bill ‘dead’

After weeks of mass rallies and pressure from protesters, Hong Kong’s chief executive has announced a controversial extradition bill is now “dead”.

Carrie Lam admitted her government’s work on the proposed law had been a total failure.

But pro-democracy activists are not convinced that is the end of the bill.
