A 24 year old young man who was shot in the neck during a shooting incident in Old Road, on April 15, has been stabilized.
The victim, whose name has been given as Dijourn Richardson, was even able to speak, according to a source close to him.
However, the bullet is still wedged in his neck and he has to receive breathing assistance. There is also very limited movement in parts of his lower body, the source further revealed.
One man, named as Elmoth Rawlins, is assisting Police with their investigations into the incident.
According to an initial Police statement on the incident, Rawlins of Old Road was at home when he heard someone enter through the kitchen door. As a result, he fired a single gunshot with his licenced firearm in the direction of the person. Shot and injured in the neck was Dijourn Richardson of Buckley’s who had previously been doing electrical work on the premises with his stepfather.
An informed source disclosed that Richardson and his stepfather were doing electrical work on the property on Saturday, April 13.
Richardson had returned to the property to collect an extension cord, when he was shot, a person with knowledge of the situation revealed.
Investigations into the incident are on-going.
