BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (KYSS FM) – Track and field fans, parents and supporters of young athletes, are up in arms with the extreme increase in ticket prices for this year’s 2018 junior and senior track and field Inter-school Championships.
An official price list released by the St. Kitts-Nevis Amateur Athletic Association (SKNAA), sees major increases above 100% of the prices for seats at the Kim Collins Stadium in Bird Rock.
Accordingly, for this year’s Senior Interschool Championships, persons will be subjected to pay a whopping $35 and $50 dollars on Saturday and Sunday respectively for seating at the Kim Collins stadium.
In prior years, seating at the Kim Collins Stadium came at a cost of EC $20.
The SKNAAA is also advertising an option for preferred seating, which will cost persons $50 and $60 dollars on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
The junior meet also sees an increase from a flat rate of $20 to $25 and $35 on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Persons have turned to social media expressing their disgust with the committee and demanding answers for the increases.
Efforts to reach the SKNAAA for a comment on the increases were unsuccessful.
