The St. Kitts and Nevis national Under 20 female and Under 23 male football teams have advanced in two major qualifiers, after topping their respective groupings, over the past weekend.
The Women’s U20 team topped Group B in the Concacaf Women’s U20 Qualification in resounding fashion winning all 4 matches at the Warner Park Stadium in Basseterre. The Men’s U23 team also topped their group in Olympic Qualification in Jamaica.
The national Under 20 female team dominated Grenada, Barbados, Anguilla and St. Vincent and the Grenadines to advance.
The Under 23 men fought bravely against Guyana, Dominica and host country Jamaica, to clinch the top spot.
Among the first to congratulate the St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association was president of the National Olympic Committee, Alphonso Bridgewater.
“They deserve our “praise”, much credit to their ‘preparation’, their consistent “performance” and the “pride” with which they executed,” he said.
“Congratulations are in order as well to the leadership of the SKNFA with whom the SKNOC has had the privilege to partner over the years. Already from the standpoint of the SKNOC the more than US$50,000 investment, this year, proved to be well spent,” Bridgewater added
Congratulations continue to pour in to both teams for their achievements.
