St. Kitts is reeling after two young men were gunned down over night, in separate incidents, as the country has now recorded an unimaginable five murders in five days.
Reports state that Vere “Stiff Jacket” Amory,was gunned down in the Alley, Sandy Point, at approximately 7 p.m last night, February 13.
The other homicide occurred in the St. Johnston Village area. The name of the victim has been given as Joel “Booyaka” Phillip. This incident, according to sources, happened at approximately 2 this morning, February 14.
Unconfirmed reports state that Amory was in the Alley playing a domino game when a lone gunman approached and fired a single shot to his head.
In the other murder incident, reports suggest that Phillip was in his house when the assailant or assailants broke down his door and peppered him with shots.
These two murders some on the heels of three murders, dating back to the night of February 8. On that night, two young male cousins were gunned down in Green Tree, Old Road. A third young man was killed on February 11.
The ghastly killings have triggered social uproar and strong condemnation from the general public. Among those who have denounced the murders is Dr. Shavern Browne, Counseling Psychologist and former resident of Sandy Point.
The Police have indicated that they will issue a statement in relation to the latest murders, shortly.
There have been six murders in the twin island state for 2019.
