St. Vincent and the Grenadines host Ghana President

St. Vincent and the Grenadines are hosting the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for two days, June 12 and 13.

The visit forms part of a five day tour of the Caribbean that includes stops in Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, and Jamaica.

The West African leader will speak on the topic “The historical linkages between Ghana, Africa and the Caribbean, as Ghana celebrates the ‘Year of Return’ to commemorate 400 years since the first slaves left Ghana for the Americas.”

President Akufo-Addo will also participate in a tree-planting ceremony at the Botanical Gardens in Kingstown, the oldest in the Western Hemisphere.

He will also engage in discussions with Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves, as both countries seek to strengthen existing relations.
