No knowledge of leave, and possible replacement, Commissioner says

Acting Commissioner of Police Hilroy Brandy has denied any knowledge about a report being circulated that suggest he will be going on pre-retirement/ vacation leave and that leaves the door open for the Assistant Commissioner of Police Adolph Adams to act as Commissioner.

“Can it be confirmed that you (the Acting Commissioner of Police Hilroy Brandy) is about to go on pre-retirement/ vacation leave and ACP Adolph Adams will ascend to the Acting COP position?” was the questioned posed to Acting Commissioner Brandy.

“I don’t know anything about it,” was his response.

The question came about after a report titled “Hilroy Brandy to go on leave; Adams to be appointed; Acting COP and Ian Queeley to get diplomatic post”    surfaced.

The report also alleges that Commissioner of Police Ian Queeley, who was scheduled to return to his post in November 2019, after a year’s leave, is to be “given a sub-regional ambassadorial post to remove him from law enforcement completely.”

Brandy has been in the Acting Commissioner position for the entirety of Queeley’s vacation leave.
