Plans for St. Kitts and Nevis to compete in the Pan American Games Lima, Peru, later during this summer are progressing well, despite some concerns that surfaced over the weekend after an 8.0 earthquake rocked part of the South American Country.

Chef De Mission of the St. Kitts and Nevis National Olympic Committee (SKNOC) delegation to the games, Lester Hanley, gave the assurance that the tremor has not affected the schedule of the games.Hanley revealed that there have been a number of meetings held ahead of the hemispherical competition and disclosed that a final listing of disciplines which St. Kitts and Nevis will participate in will be made shortly.

The SKNOC has been at the helm of sport development in the twin island state for decades. St. Kitts and Nevis first competed in the Pan American Games in 1995, in Argentina.

The country has secured three medals from competing in the Pan American Games- two silvers and a bronze medal. Kim Collins won silver in the 100m in 2011, the national relay team won silver that same games and Antoine Adams grabbed bronze in the 100m in 2015.
