Taiwanese donate vehicles to Police; Highway Patrol Unit launched
The Republic of China on Taiwan has underscored its strong relationship with the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis through yet another donation. Once again, the beneficiary is the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force.
The Force’s fleet was increased by another twelve vehicles, as result of the generous donation.
Yesterday, August 19, the Traffic Department launched its High Way Patrol Unit, with four of the twelve vehicles being assigned to that unit.
The objective of the new wing is to increase patrols and better traffic management, according to Inspector Carl Caines.
The establishment has been welcomed by many but there have also been calls for officers to be more accountable for and responsible with the vehicles.
