TOM BUCHANNAN APPOINTED ACTING PERMANENT SECRETARY

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – Tom Buchanan has been named the acting Permanent Secretary for Youth, Sports and Culture according to memo circulated to heads of departments.
Buchanan was previously the Senior Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Education and was on long leave, with and without pay, this year.
During his leave, Mr. Buchanan was said to have been “working remotely” according to credible sources.
His elevation to the position comes three weeks after Police issued a press release about a Basseterre man recently charged with indecent assault.
The Police report read, “A man from the Basseterre area was arrested and charged on November 13, 2018 for the offence of Indecent Assault.
The offence was allegedly committed on October 31, 2018. The victim reported the matter to the Police on November 09. Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.”
A post on the social media platform, Facebook, was circulating simultaneously which alleged have that a Permanent Secretary in the Civil Service may somehow have been involved in indecent assault incident.
