US House votes to formalise Trump impeachment inquiry
The US House of Representatives has voted to push the impeachment inquiry of President Donald Trump into its next phase with public hearings now imminent.
The inquiry will look at Trump allegedly pressuring his Ukrainian counter-part to implicate his political rival, Joe Biden.
In the past weeks, nearly two dozen witnesses have given evidence in private impeachment inquiries.
The road ahead will pit the Democrats against the Republicans – and the outcome is far from certain.
