The Golden State Warriors find themselves in the Western Conference Finals once again and they got off to a great start against the Portland Trail Blazers by picking up a 116-94 win in Game 1 at Oracle Arena.
Golden State began the series without Kevin Durant and DeMarcus Cousins but didn’t miss a beat in a comfortable victory over Portland. All-Star guard Stephen Curry was absolutely on fire as he finished with 36 points and knocked down nine of his 15 attempts from beyond the arc.
As if Curry’s performance wasn’t spectacular enough, the Warriors also got a huge boost from Klay Thompson. The sharpshooting guard also added 26 points on 10-of-24 shooting.
From the Portland side of things, the Trail Blazers really struggled from the floor as they only shot 36.1 percent throughout the night. All-Star guard Damian Lillard scored a team-high 19 points, but missed eight of his 12 field goal attempts. Five different Blazers finished in double figures, but no player connected on more than two shots from beyond the arc.
