Young men charged for armed robbery; Police seek perps in other hold up
Three young men, including a juvenile, are facing armed robbery charges.
According to a Police press statement, twenty-three year old Estevan Lawrence of Stapleton Village, eighteen year old, Elandre Connor of Neverson Street East and a juvenile of Shadwell have been charged in relation to the armed robbery in Upper Monkey Hill, St. Peter’s, on April 16.
In recent weeks, there have been a number of reported armed robberies throughout the federation.
Meanwhile, Police continue their search for the perpetrators behind an armed robbery of a supermarket in the Old Road area, on April 19.
Investigations so far have revealed that at approximately 7:20 p.m. on Friday, three masked men entered a supermarket, confronted a cashier and demanded money.
The men had what appeared to be firearms. They took a sum of cash from the cash register before fleeing the scene. No one was injured during the incident, the initial Police report states.
The supermarket “in the river” is one of the more popular shopping areas for Old Road, residents say.
A Chinese restaurant in the same area was recently held up but there is no evidence to link both armed robberies.
